The Story Of Marc Griffith
As a bespoke tailor in London, Marc honed his cutting and tailoring skills while working with some of the most legendary Savile Row houses, including Huntsman, Anderson & Sheppard, and William Hunt. In the 1990s, Marc opened his first shop in an eighteenth-century townhouse in London’s Clerkenwell, during the city’s economic boom. Positioned off Savile Row and on the fringe of London’s square mile, the shop attracted not only rock legends like Bryan Ferry and Bruce Foxton but also a roll call of business moguls and political figures.
Marc later co-founded the Ace Face Clothing Company, a venture that reintroduced bespoke Tonic suits to the fashion scene, making them accessible once again. It was during this time that Marc revived the two-tone fabric, which caught the attention of The Specials ahead of their 2008 reunion tour. This led to the iconic collaboration that saw the band wearing his suits, styled just as they did in the 1970s.
Now, he continues his journey with Marc Griffith London, based in Soho and later Camden Town, where he offers bespoke tailoring that carries on the legacy of two-tone style.
